eden arrives, completely shy and hesitant to get her picture taken.
i pull out my stupidest tricks and i'm gettin' nada.
no smiles. no laughs. no she's-kinda-funny smirks.
i realize this may be my first totally failed attempt to win over a kid.
until about ten minutes in.
suddenly, girlfriend works the camera like she owns it.
she's spinning, jumping, giggling, running, posing...and glancing back at me to make sure i'm gettin' it all.
eden...dang, girl. you've got it.
...and that's not all she's got.
she has a new baby sister, liv...
...and we're shooting more of liv tomorrow.
i love this girl's spirit.

dang, girl.
{kristin: take five}
little krisitin is back...
this is the fifth time i've had the privilege of capturing her (thank you, leslie!)...i've been photographing her since she was six months old...
...and how her little animation and mobility has crescendo'ed over a year.
and with that animation & mobility comes a respective crescendo in the energy and exertion i must use to chase and capture her.
enter bribery. last night we went through two candy canes, a ball, and a little poor latte who was used as photography bait. hey, it worked.

{the nolascos}
we almost canceled tonight due to completely overcast skies, but i'm glad we didn't...
no sunshine needed with these sweet boys...
(and let me just say, if i had a little boy, i would totally rock him out in one of these little bowlcuts. i love his hair!)
and mom and dad aren't so bad on the eyes either.
trisha, you are beautiful!

{the dudleys}
there are times when i can plan out the perfect light, the perfect location, the perfect time, shoot for an hour and still not feel "it" after looking at the pics.
on the contrary, there are times when i'd otherwise think it's not gonna happen and in ten minutes, my memory card is full of fabulousness. today was the latter. the sky was overcast, it was morning, the grass was wet, lainey hesitantly dragged along in the yard wearing one of my old nightgowns and a fancy hat, our dog jumped in the shot about ten times...but in just a short time, this family rocked it out hard.
i give you...the dudleys.
smiles! ~k

{mason}
i love to do shoots in the evening...an hour or so before sunset, but with all the holiday shoots, i've been doing sometimes several outdoor ones a day which means the sun can get crazy, but yesterday afternoon at the park and this heavenly shade provided the perfect atmosphere to capture this smiley little tyke...mason.
the minute he arrived, he could not stop smiling, and as long as i chased him, he ran and giggled to get away from me. forty-five minutes later, he didn't want anything to do with the camera...but what we did get was priceless.
stephanie...he is pure sunshine and a pleasure it was to catch him in action!

baby quentin and sweet nina
oh, we've been busy, and it only gets better from now until christmas with all these sweet babies and their christmas cards. not to mention...somethin' was in the water nine months or so ago because there are plenty of sweet newborns comin' our way.
today...
little quentin.
his mama has quite the story on the miracle of his coming-to-be. i love 'my' babies' stories.
and later this evening, little nina who's got some serious spunk and some killer eyes...
another sweet baby tomorrow...can't wait to get my hands on her.
i love this job.
